Shanghai International Convention And Exhibition Center

After the Shanghai Expo, how can Shanghai's exhibition industry develop? Reporters learned from the 2011 Shanghai Convention and exhibition forum today that by the end of 2015, Shanghai will build an international convention and Exhibition Center City, and the Shanghai exhibition industry is integrating with creative industries.

Li Wuwei, vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, attended the forum and delivered keynote speeches.


The Forum revealed that Shanghai's Convention and exhibition industry has developed at a rate of more than 15% every year in recent years.

In the past 5 years, the number of exhibition and exhibition area increased by 18.4% and 16.4% respectively.

By the end of 2010, the city had an indoor exhibition area of 367 thousand square meters, with more than 700 registered enterprises in Shanghai.


This year is the opening year of 12th Five-Year. It coincides with the Ministry of state and municipal cooperation. The National Convention and Exhibition Center is located in Shanghai.

According to the forum, China's exhibition industry has been developing rapidly in recent years.

Take the commercial exhibition as an example. In the 2010 World Trade Exhibition top 100 list, Germany selected 58, China 14, Italy 8, and China ranked only second after Germany.

Nationwide, the exhibition in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou ranks the top three.


However, at present, China's exhibition industry is still facing the problem of rapid growth and lack of brand exhibitions.

In response, experts at the meeting suggested that the current exhibition industry should attach importance to improving the level of specialization, make creative planning of content, enhance the cultural connotation of exhibition industry, and make positive interaction between "exhibition", "meeting" and "festival activities" to form brand effect.
